Lunar New Year Light Show, Projection Mapping
EASTERN SUBURB MEMORY Chengdu's art district celebrated the Lunar New Year 2025 with a facade mapping into Chinese culture.
The façade mapping took place in a historic industrial building, transforming over 1,500m² of projection surface into a mesmerizing digital canvas.
The main show cteated by Temple of Light and Danny Rose Studio is a tribute to Chinese culture, drawing from UNESCO-listed Intangible Heritage with the ancient art of Chinese Shadow Play (Piying). The result is a visually stunning fusion of tradition and modern technology, immersing audiences in a dreamlike retelling of a Chinese legend.
In addition to the main show, a smaller production celebrates the unique cultural identity of Chengdu. This segment highlights the city's deep connection to nature, featuring lush landscapes and its most famous residents, the beloved pandas, offering a heartfelt tribute to the region’s rich heritage and natural beauty.
